The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA), founded by Dr. Charles F. Whitten, has been a leader in supporting families affected by sickle cell disease. Recently, SCDAA expanded its “Families Moving Forward” program, which provides education, support, and resources to families living with the disease.

The expansion includes new partnerships with local healthcare providers and community organizations to reach more families in underserved areas. Since the program's expansion, SCDAA has assisted over 500 families with access to specialized care and support services, improving the quality of life for those affected by sickle cell disease.
